What AI Help is

AI Help is Catalog Machine's free in-app AI assistant. It answers questions about features, walks you through how-tos, troubleshoots issues, and helps you navigate the app — all instantly inside Catalog Machine.

It's the fastest way to get help: typically responds in 2-5 seconds, knows your account context (your plan, your products, your recent activity), and links you straight to the right page in the app.

How to access it

  1. Direct link: app.catalogmachine.com/?copilot=on — opens AI Help automatically

  2. In-app: click the chat icon (typically bottom-right or in the sidebar)

  3. Type your question in plain language

  4. AI Help responds with an answer and (when relevant) a clickable link to the exact page in the app

It's available throughout the app — products, catalogs, showrooms, settings, billing — and adapts to where you are.

What AI Help can do

Answer how-to questions

  • "How do I import products from Shopify?"

  • "How do I create a price list?"

  • "How do I share a catalog with a customer?"

AI Help vs AI Concierge — when to use which

Rule of thumb: If you want an answer, use AI Help. If you want the work done, use AI Concierge.

Use AI Help when

You have a question, are exploring a feature, troubleshooting, learning the app, or planning before doing the work yourself. Open: app.catalogmachine.com/?copilot=on

Use AI Concierge when

You want products imported, a catalog built, bulk edits done, photos analyzed, or a website URL turned into products. Open: app.catalogmachine.com/concierge · Learn more about Concierge

AI Help can also recommend Concierge when your question is really a request for action — e.g., "import 50 products from this URL" — and hand you off seamlessly.

What AI Help can't do

  • Can't directly add, edit, or delete products, catalogs, or settings — that's AI Concierge's job

  • Can't process file uploads (CSV, PDF, images) for import — upload those in Concierge or via the regular importers

  • Won't make commercial decisions for you (pricing, plan choices, supplier selection)

Cost

AI Help is free for all plans, on all surfaces of the app. There are gentle rate limits to keep the system fast for everyone, but normal usage isn't restricted.

Tips for best results

  • Be specific — "How do I add a logo to my catalog cover?" works better than "catalog help"

  • Mention what you've tried — "I imported a CSV but the prices show as 0" gives AI Help the troubleshooting context it needs

  • Ask follow-up questions — AI Help remembers the conversation and builds on it

  • Use it before Concierge — if you're not sure how Concierge works, ask AI Help first (free), then run Concierge with confidence (uses credits)
