What AI Concierge is
AI Concierge is Catalog Machine's paid AI assistant that does the work for you. Unlike AI Help (which answers questions), Concierge directly imports products, organizes catalogs, designs pages, and publishes — all from a single chat.
Tell it what you want in plain language, attach files or share URLs, and it builds your catalog. You review the preview and click Save to commit.
What you can do with Concierge
Import products from anything
Type or paste — list products in chat, Concierge structures them
CSV / Excel — upload a CSV (Excel files: save as CSV first), Concierge maps columns to fields automatically
PDF documents — upload product catalogs, brochures, price lists; Concierge reads the PDF and extracts products
Product photos — upload images, Concierge identifies products and adds them with descriptions. Send them in small batches — see the attachment limits below.
Website URLs — paste a link to your store, a supplier site, a marketplace listing, or a competitor's product page; Concierge fetches the page and extracts products, prices, descriptions, and images. No link handy? Describe what you are looking for and Concierge will search for the page first, then import from what it finds.
Shopify store? Use the dedicated Shopify integration — once products are imported, Concierge can build catalogs from them, organize collections, edit fields, etc.
Attachment limits — how many photos per message
There are hard limits on what one chat message can carry:
5 MB per image, and 10 MB total per message (10 MB for a PDF).
Phone photos are often 3–5 MB each, so in practice that is roughly 3 to 6 photos per message, not dozens.
If you have 20, 50 or 100 photos, do not attach them all at once — they will not fit, and Concierge can only work with what actually arrived. Instead, either:
Send them a few products at a time across several messages, telling Concierge which product each batch belongs to; or
Upload them all in Image Manager (no limit there), give each file a name that matches the product, and then import a CSV with an image column holding those file names.
Naming your files well pays off. A file called 6mm chrome shower door.jpg can be matched to a product automatically; IMG_4002.jpg cannot.
Bulk product operations
Edit descriptions, prices, fields across many products at once
Create and reorganize categories and collections
Bulk move products between categories
Assign images to products in batch
Create and design catalogs
Build catalogs from your products with auto-designed pages — grids, product lists, covers
Customize page layouts, product cards, themes, fonts, colors
Edit existing catalog pages by description ("make the cover dark blue with the company logo on top")
Publish — generate shareable online links, configure privacy, download PDF
How to use it
Open AI Concierge directly, or click the lightning bolt icon in the left sidebar (or any "Let AI Concierge do this" link in the app)
Describe what you want in chat — attach files, paste URLs, or just type
Concierge proposes changes — review them in the Preview panel on the right
Click Save to commit, or ask for adjustments first
Importing from a website URL
Share any product page or store URL and Concierge fetches the page and extracts what it finds. Works best with static product listing pages.
You do not need the URL to start. Ask for something by name ("find the product page for OXO 11239800") and Concierge searches first, picks the best result, then imports from it.
Examples that work well:
Your existing online store's product listing
A supplier's product page (Alibaba, 1688, manufacturer sites)
Marketplace listings (Amazon, eBay, Etsy product URLs)
Competitor catalogs you're benchmarking against
Limits: max 5 web fetches per turn (searching has its own separate budget), up to 50K characters per fetch. JavaScript-heavy sites (some modern e-commerce platforms) may return partial content. If extraction is incomplete, Concierge will tell you and suggest alternatives (CSV, paste, native Shopify integration).
For Shopify stores specifically, use the native Shopify integration instead — it auto-syncs everything, no fetch limit.
Credits — how billing works
Concierge runs on credits, billed in dollars. Unlike manual product editing, CSV import, Shopify sync, catalog design, and AI Help — which are all free — Concierge uses credits because it does AI work for you.
Monthly allocation included with every plan: Free $2, Lite $10, Pro $20, Premium $50. Resets on the 1st of each month; unused monthly credits don't roll over.
Per-session cost: typically $0.10–$2 depending on complexity (a quick question vs. a 50-product CSV import with photos). The current session cost is shown live in the Concierge header while you chat.
Out of credits? Two options: (1) Buy Credits top-up packs ($5 / $10 / $20 / $50 — never expire, roll over between months), or (2) Upgrade plan for a bigger monthly allocation plus higher platform limits.
Free plan welcome bonus: new users get an additional one-time bonus on their first Concierge session.
Do credits expire, and can I get a refund?
Purchased credits never expire. Whatever you have not used stays on your account for as long as the account is active, and carries over month to month. Nothing is lost by not using it right away.
Credit purchases are final — credits are not refundable or exchangeable for cash, and cannot be transferred to another account. Credit packs often include bonus credits, so credits have no fixed cash value.
Monthly plan credits are part of your plan. They reset each period, do not accumulate, and end if you cancel or downgrade.
If a Concierge session did not do what you expected, tell us what happened rather than assuming the credits are gone — you can check your live balance any time in the Concierge header or at Account → Billing, and we would rather help you get the result you paid for.
Where to find receipts for credit purchases
Go to Account → Billing → AI Credit Purchases. Every credit top-up you have bought is listed there, with a Receipt link to its Stripe receipt.
Credit packs are one-time payments, not part of your subscription. That is why they do not appear on your subscription invoices and are not in the Stripe billing portal, which is where most people look first. The AI Credit Purchases tab is the only place they are listed.
If your plan is billed through Shopify, your credits are billed on your Shopify invoice, so the payment details and receipts are there rather than in Catalog Machine.
Concierge vs AI Help vs manual
Manual | Free. Full control. Best for fine-tuning, small edits, learning the app. |
AI Help (Copilot) | Free. Answers questions, explains features, navigates the app. Use the chat icon (learn more) or open it directly: app.catalogmachine.com/?copilot=on. |
AI Concierge | Credit-based. Does the actual work — imports, catalog creation, bulk edits. Open it directly: app.catalogmachine.com/concierge. |
What Concierge can't do
Can't take more than 10 MB of attachments in one message — large photo sets must be split, or uploaded to Image Manager and imported by CSV
Can't read JavaScript-rendered websites well (some modern e-commerce platforms)
Can't process Excel files directly — save as CSV first
Won't invent data — it imports only what is actually on the page or in the file. It can search for a page when you don't have the link, but it won't guess at product details.
Won't auto-commit — you always review the preview before saving
Tips for best results
Be specific about what you want — "Import these products and make a 4-page catalog with a dark cover" works better than "make me a catalog"
Attach related sources together — the file, photos and URL for the same batch of products in one message — but stay under the 10 MB message limit above
Work in batches for big imports — 5–10 products at a time is faster and more accurate than one huge message, and it costs fewer credits overall
Review the Preview panel before saving — Concierge will show categories, products, and pages before commit
Use AI Help first if you're not sure — it can explain Concierge before you spend credits
Need help getting started? Open AI Help from the chat icon — it's free and can walk you through your first Concierge session.
